One afternoon, I was perched on a high branch, hiding from

everyone. Kâmuran walked under the tree and looked up with a

small smile. "Feride, you should come down at once," he said

calmly. "You are no longer a little child; you are becoming a young

lady. It is time to act like one." I laughed and threw a handful of

leaves at him. "I will never grow up, Kâmuran! I will always

belong to the sky!" I shouted defiantly.

However, behind my laughter, my heart was racing. I started to

observe him secretly from a distance. I listened to his stories about

life in Paris and admired his intelligence. Without realizing it, my

childhood innocence was slowly turning into a deeper, more

complicated emotion. My path was being drawn, and at the end of

that path, there was Kâmuran.
